Who Should Attend?

SUNA’s Annual uroLogic Conference is designed for all levels of urology – Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of urologic patients.

Learn and connect with urology nurse colleagues – in person or virtually.  The hybrid educational program allows you to choose the learning experience that meets your personal and professional needs. The conference will feature the following education tracks throughout concurrent session blocks:

OncologyThis track will address and discuss various forms of urologic cancers and sequalae, including bladder, prostate, kidney, testicular & penile as well as pediatric Wilm's tumor.

Trauma / PainThis track will address and discuss trauma informed care, sex trafficking, and various aspects of care pertaining to pelvic pain, including pain management, vulvar dermatology, and pelvic floor therapy for patients with pelvic pain. The pelvic floor physical therapy lecture will also include clinical application of pelvic floor relaxation exercises in real time. Bring your yoga mat or towel for interactive learning!

Clinical Skills / MA This track will focus on an introduction to the basic understanding of urology and clinical urology skills. Foundations include urologic embryology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Clinical skills include set up and preparation for urologic procedures, such as tubes, vasectomy, cystoscopy, trial void practices, etc., as well as guidance for triage of urology patients. This track also includes a lecture on the care of dementia patients with incontinence.

85% of the participants will self-report an intention to change their practice through implementation of newly acquired evidence-based information gained from this conference.
