Cancer in the older adult has become a chronic illness requiring the APRN to understand and to proactively partner with the oncology specialist to manage the complex needs of this population. This session will help attendees appraise the clinical decision-making related to anti-neoplastic treatments in the older adult with cancer, discuss the interprofessional collaboration required in geriatric oncology, and describe cases of oncologic emergencies and immunological adverse events that may present in primary and acute care settings.
