Lisa Pair is an assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. She worked as a clinical and research nurse practitioner for over 20 years in a urogynecology practice at a local academic medical center. She had her own clinical practice 5 days/week, seeing patients with pelvic prolapse and urinary incontinence providing conservative management. She also participated as a research NP performing the assessment and management following study protocols in over 32 research studies with 17 of them NIH funded grants. She is certified as a women’s health nurse practitioner and a Fellow in the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates. She has been validated/certified through various research studies in performing complex urodynamics and performing the POP-Q assessment. The clinical care she provided included the assessment of types of prolapse and staging (POP-Q staging), pessary fitting and management, assessment and management of urinary incontinence including pharmacologic treatment, Interstim mapping and follow up, and PTNS treatment and management.
