An effective organizational preceptor program fosters professional development for preceptors while creating a structured, supportive environment that enables new hires to integrate successfully into the clinical setting. High nursing turnover remains a costly challenge. We will discuss how our organization focused on strengthening its preceptor development program with the aim of improving support for newly hired nursing staff and reducing front-line first-year voluntary turnover.
