Dr. Cassandra Vonnes is a certified gerontological and advance oncology nurse practitioner and a fellow of the American Heart Association and American Geriatric Society. She has taught at USF College of Nursing and was recognized as a Hartford Distinguished Educator in Geriatric Nursing. Under her leadership, Moffitt Cancer Center was the first Florida hospital and the first cancer center recognized by IHI as an Age-Friendly Health System Committed to Care Excellence. Dr. Vonnes hosts GAPNA CHAT, which features leaders in geriatric healthcare. She was awarded GAPNA’s Excellence in Leadership 2022 and the Oncology Nurses Society Excellence in Care for the Older Adult with Cancer Award in 2019.
