Mental health conditions in the geriatric population tend to be underdiagnosed and undertreated in the primary care setting. Stigma associated with mental health, lack of provider awareness and training in geriatric mental health, and limited access to mental health professionals are associated with poorer outcomes in the geriatric population. This presentation will focus on the assessment, diagnosis, screening tools, and treatment considerations for common mental health conditions seen in the geriatric population.
