Older adults are at higher risk of financial exploitation due to functional dependency, poor physical health, cognitive impairment, and low socioeconomic status. The role of the primary care APRN includes education about financial decision-making, screening and management of financial exploitation. This session will address how APRNs play an important role in understanding the impact, educating the older adult and caregiver, and steps to take if an older adult has fallen victim to financial exploitation.
