This session will assist participants in gaining confidence and competence in screening and assessment of older adults with suicidal ideation and/or suicidal behavior. With a lack of availability of behavioral health clinicians across many community and long-term care settings, it is imperative for front-line clinicians and staff to have the skills to assess a resident for suicidal ideation and to initiate appropriate interventions to keep the patient safe in the least restrictive environment.
