Melissa K. McGowan is operations director for the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative (DAC) system preparedness expansion program, where she works with healthcare systems across the United States to implement early detection programs for cognitive impairment. Her work focuses on helping health systems translate DAC’s early detection blueprint into practice through program implementation, workflow development, and sustainability strategies that support the integration of early detection into healthcare delivery. Through her role with DAC, she also supports broader efforts to strengthen the Alzheimer’s care pathway, including the integration of brain health navigators into care delivery. Previously, Melissa spent more than 20 years in leadership roles at the National Institutes of Health, including the National Institute on Aging, where she helped advance national Alzheimer’s disease research and clinical research initiative.
