Dr. Sherry Rivera is an associate professor of clinical nursing at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and the adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner program coordinator. She is the chair of the National Kidney Foundation Council of Advanced Practice Providers Executive Committee and the co-chair of the NKF kidney disease outcomes quality initiative to define a core curriculum for chronic kidney disease patient education. She has been a nurse practitioner for 13 years. She has been in nephrology nursing practice as an RN and APRN for 30 years. She received her DNP degree from LSUHSC SON in New Orleans, MSN degree from University of Cincinnati, BSN degree from Regis University, and RN diploma from Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing.
