This presentation will focus on managing diabetes in older adults. We will discuss some of the important considerations in this population, including hepatic and renal changes, polypharmacy, drug interactions, and adverse drug reactions which create challenges in managing diabetes. While there are guidelines surrounding glycemic goals in this population, we will expand on personalizing them even further, based upon functionality, frailty, life expectancy, and other factors. Newest medications and diabetic tools will be discussed.
