As the older adult population transitions from the traditional and silent generations to baby boomers, the application of generational identities is fundamental in communication. This presentation will explore the framework of “gentillengence” and enhance the care of older adults across the continuum. The key generations will be introduced by GAPNA members who represent the group, and the session will share the conceptual framework of gentillengence and focus on how applying the model to discussions involving students, colleagues, patients, and care partners leads to a better understanding of collaboration and improved care for older adults.
