As oncology care grows increasingly complex and technology-dependent, a critical gap has emerged between clinical expertise and informatics capability at the point of care. This presentation describes the development and operationalization of a novel oncology clinical informatics nurse specialist role within a large academic health system. Discussion will include scope, competencies, and organizational value of this hybrid role and a replicable framework for nurses seeking to establish or advocate for a similar position within their own institutions.
