Description

Nursing leadership stands at an inflection point. Fragmented workflows, documentation burden, cognitive overload, and rising acuity are straining the workforce as artificial intelligence reshapes health care. This future forward session introduces intelligence orchestration: the real-time coordination of clinical, operational, and patient-generated data to enable proactive nursing workflows that strengthen quality, safety, and workforce sustainability. Drawing on decades of combined nursing informatics leadership across industry and large academic health systems, including live, at-scale deployments, we examine the artificial intelligence use cases that are real today — ambient documentation, predictive monitoring, virtual nursing, and agentic workflows — alongside the hazards, governance structures, and informatics competencies required to deploy them responsibly. Participants will leave with a trust-before-scale roadmap and a clear leadership stance for the age of artificial intelligence: nurses are not merely users of these systems, but their co-designers, validators, and architects.
