Melissa-Marie Lopez is an acute care emergency registered nurse who concurrently serves as clinical informatics and education support at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California. She has 13 years of clinical healthcare experience, including 12 years of experience in emergency nursing. Melissa is deeply committed to the values of justice and integrity, consistently advocating for the advancement of patient care and nursing practice. She actively serves on eight councils, leading three as chair: the emergency department shared governance council, the downtime taskforce, and the hospital-wide clinical informatics council. As a recognized mentor and preceptor, Melissa empowers emerging nurses, ensuring they are well-prepared to thrive in today’s evolving, technology-driven healthcare landscape. In her role as a staff developer and Epic super user/subject matter expert, she leads Epic training sessions and conducts emergency department-focused interface testing, ensuring seamless cross-functionality and workflow optimization. Melissa holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics degree from the University of San Diego. She also serves on the board of and as social media and communications chair for the ANIA Southern California chapter.
