Susan Niemeier began her nursing career in the med-surg care environment, which inspired her to concentrate efforts on finding better ways to positively impact nursing and ultimately, the patient. With over 20 years experience in operations and hospital leadership, her career interests expanded to emerging technologies that bridged nursing practice with innovation in order to support the delivery of safe care practices. She was responsible for shaping the scope of a ground-breaking RWJF research study to identify drivers of inefficiency in nursing work and unit design. She also developed tools and methodologies to transform medication safety and efficiency. She has held leadership positions within healthcare IT at smart infusion therapy and device integration companies. Susan’s passion for informatics and dedication to integrating technologies has led to more effective and safer clinical care environments.
