Wendy Wittwer is an ANCC-certified informatics nurse with 20+ years of experience in the specialty. Wendy became passionate about supporting nurses’ use of technology after seeing it become more and more ubiquitous during her years as a direct patient care nurse on a multi-specialty med-surg unit. This passion grew when the hospital she worked for partnered with a technology start-up company to develop the first barcode medication administration (BCMA) software in the nation and Wendy became the project manager for that work. Since then, she has held various informatics nurse roles and has been privileged to share her experiences and expertise by presenting locally and nationally on a variety of topics, most recently as a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing sharing her insights and experience with technology and informatics in nursing.
