Date & Time
Friday, May 10, 2024, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Tammy Kemp Kathleen McGrow
Description

Leaders need to prepare for artificial intelligence and its impact on practice. Harnessing the power of large language models has great potential to provide a safety net for patients and clinicians, and nurses are best suited to develop, implement, and assess the impact of these models. This session will discuss the development of large language modes and how to maximize benefits and avoid pitfalls. Prompt engineers will be in high demand and new thinking algorithms are necessary for development. Presenters will discuss practical use case scenarios and the evaluation of outcomes. In addition, they will review specific large language model skills that informatics nurses and leaders need to acquire based on their organizational role. Skills will be discussed at the nurse informatics and executive levels along with suggested building blocks to achieve for preparation.
