Arthur C. Fleischer, M.D. is the Cornelius Vanderbilt Chair in the Departments of Radiology and Ob/Gyn at Vanderbilt U. Med Ctr. He has pioneered several newer ultrasound techniques in Women's Health including transvaginal sonography and transperineal sonography. He has authored over 250 scientific manuscripts and 25 books related to this application. He is the author of Sonography in Ob/Gyn: Textbook and Teaching cases, 8th edition McGraw-Hill Publishers. He has collaborated with many ob/gyn colleagues in research on ovarian cancer, uterine disorders, pelvic floor disorders, and infertility. His currently funded project involves enhanced 3D sonography of the Fallopian tube for purposes of early detection of type II ovarian epithelial cancer.
