With over 28 years at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Rayne Soriano has been a steadfast leader in nursing education, informatics, and professional practice. As the regional director of professional excellence at the Caring Science Academy and KP Scholars Academy, he spearheads initiatives in professional practice, academic progression, research, evidence-based programs, and education—fostering excellence in nursing and healthcare leadership. With over a decade of emergency nursing experience, Rayne is certified in performance improvement, strategic leadership, and advanced management. A Caritas Coach®, KP CCEP Caritas faculty member, and certified HeartMath® instructor, he is deeply committed to integrating caring science into nursing leadership and education. In recognition of his impact as an educator and mentor, Rayne was honored as the 2025 Recipient of the DAISY Faculty Award. As president of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders in Hawaii, he champions the professional growth of nursing leaders. He also teaches at Chamberlain University’s master’s program and the University of San Francisco’s master’s and DNP programs. Rayne holds a BSN degree from the University of San Francisco, an MS in Nursing Education degree from Sacramento State University, and a PhD in Nursing Science and Healthcare Leadership degree from UC Davis. He is a sought-after mentor, speaker, and published author, dedicated to advancing the nursing profession.
