Shannon Wells has over 25 years of experience in nursing. She currently serves as the director of nursing professional development & education for the clinical practices of the University of Pennsylvania (CPUP) in Philadelphia. Shannon holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education degree from Drexel University and is certified in both emergency nursing (CEN) and nursing professional development (NPD-BC). She also holds certificates in Lean Six Sigma green belt and healthcare simulation. In 2024, Shannon received the ANPD Belinda E. Puetz Award for her contributions to advancing nursing professional development and also serves as a leadership mentor in the Association for Nursing Professional Development Leadership Academy. She is an active member of AAACN and currently serves as a member of the staff education advisory council, AAACN ANPD team, and a JACN manuscript reviewer.
