Cynthia Murray has been a nurse leader in varied ambulatory care settings for the past 25 years. She currently serves as the PACT Act legislative action team nurse consultant detail, Office of Primary Care (OPC) VA Central Office (VACO); nurse manager clinical operations within Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 4; and as the previous clinical nurse advisor for Primary Care Office of Nursing Services (ONS) within the US Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Cynthia is a board-certified ambulatory care nurse with three decades of experience in varied clinical practice settings. During her studies at the University of Dundee, Scotland, she focused on addressing gaps in VHA standardization of nursing care in the ambulatory care environment. Cynthia has led the development of expert resources to enhance nurses' professional practice on a global scale as chair and editor for the Scopes and Standards of Professional Nursing Practice in Care Coordination/Transitions Management (CCTM) 2016, Ambulatory Care Nursing 2017 and 2023, and Telehealth Nursing 2018. She served as co-author for the Ambulatory Care Nursing Sensitive Indicators (NSI) Industry Report (2016), Care Coordination and Transitions Management Core Curriculum 2nd (ed. 2019), and Perspectives in Ambulatory Care Nursing (2017), focusing on population health specific needs in varied clinic settings to include veterans’ health care.
