This presentation from members of the AAACN Research Committee is designed increase the confidence and capabilities of novice authors. Attendees will be encouraged to bring a manuscript idea or draft with them to apply lessons to their own work. Focus will include the understanding of the importance of scholarly writing to disseminate research findings, contribute to evidence-based practice, and advance the science of ambulatory care nursing; gaining knowledge of the publication process, including selecting a target journal, manuscript development, manuscript submission, peer review, and responding to reviewer comments; and developing a manuscript outline using the introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion structure and any applicable reporting guidelines.
