Dr. Isabel Casimiro is an endocrinologist based in Honolulu, HI, at the Queens Health System. She is also an assistant professor at the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the University of Chicago. She holds a medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and a PhD degree in biomedical research from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical practice focuses on metabolic disorders such as diabetes and lipid disease. Her philosophy of care centers around building a partnership with patients built on the understanding of their disease process with a holistic whole-body approach to management. Her clinical research currently focuses on metabolic dysfunction, diabetes and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease. Her research work has been published in several journals, including Cell Metabolism and Nature Communications.
