Dr. Chad Kawakami is an associate professor at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, The Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy, where he specializes in senior care pharmacy. He is from Oahu and graduated from Oregon State University with his PharmD degree. After graduation, Dr. Kawakami completed a PGY-1 residency at The Queen’s Medical Center. Following residency, he worked as a clinical pharmacist at The Queen’s Medical Center, Tripler Army Medical Center, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Pacific Islands Health Care System. He lectures in the area of geriatrics. He is a recipient of the HRSA Geriatric Academic Career Award (GACA) and the RWJF Clinical Scholars Fellowship.
