Dr. Elizabeth Bell-McClure is a clinical associate at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. She has been in healthcare for over 15 years, starting as a staff nurse for a lung transplant medical ICU stepdown unit. She graduated from Duke University with a family nurse practitioner degree, and after a brief stint in primary care, transitioned to an endocrine position at Duke University Hospital with a primary focus on diabetes management after cardiothoracic surgery and organ transplant. She received her doctorate in 2022 from UNC Chapel Hill, where she created a novel risk assessment tool to screen patients for diabetes following organ transplant. Dr. Bell now serves as the quality improvement and patient safety director for the inpatient division of Duke Endocrinology, as well as clinical faculty at the Duke School of Nursing and DNP mentor for UNC Chapel Hill.
