Speaker Bio
Dr. Linda MacIntyre recently retired as chief nurse for the American Red Cross, a position she held beginning in 2013. She presently serves as a senior nurse consultant for the American Red Cross and as a volunteer clinical professor for the University of California, San Francisco, where she previously worked as a full-time faculty member. She holds a PhD degree in nursing from University of California, San Francisco, and a BA in theology from Westminster College in England. She is a HeartMath® Master Trainer. Prior to nursing, she worked as a residential social worker in a children’s home in England. Her nursing career includes five years in hemodialysis and more than 27 years in community health nursing. As the director of community health and youth in Kansas City, she was responsible for academic service-learning, community health programs, youth programs, and disaster health services. Dr. MacIntyre has represented the Red Cross and collaborated with major federal and civilian health and nursing organizations, government agencies, universities, hospitals, and other key stakeholders.
