Dr. (Joan) Michelle Moccia is an adult nurse practitioner. She was previously the program director of Michigan's first senior ER (2010) with ACEP level 1 geriatric emergency department accreditation. Dr. Moccia is a past president of GAPNA and serves as Chapter Leadership chair and is a member of multiple other GAPNA special interest groups and committees. She is the chair of the Michigan State Team Moving Forward Coalition, working closely with the Michigan Forward Nursing Coalition chair Alice Bonner and members to help make vital changes in policy and practice to improve nursing home quality.
