Dr. Michael Kingan is a nurse practitioner with Wilmington VA Medical Center. He holds a doctorate in nursing practice degree and nurse practitioner certificate, specializing in adult/geriatric care, from George Washington University. A nurse for many years, he has worked in acute, sub-acute, and community care settings. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, he worked in several progressive clinical leadership positions in a large level-one trauma center. He has served as adjunct professor for several universities. He is a member of AANP and Sigma Theta Tau, is an AACN member and past chapter president, and is member and past board president of Wound Ostomy Continence Certification Board. He has presented topics locally and nationally. For the past 10 years, he has practiced as an adult-geriatric nurse practitioner providing home-based medical care.
