This session aims to empower advanced practice nurses (APNs) to triage patients with cognitive impairment, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and their role in a multidisciplinary care team to optimize AD clinical management. An APN who specializes in AD care will provide guidance on key topics, including the need for improvement of early AD diagnosis, recommendations for a thorough patient evaluation and differential diagnosis, review of AD pathophysiology and how it contributes to symptoms and disease progression, and expected outcomes and safety education for treatments that target AD pathology.
