Dr. Maureen Beck is a gerontological nurse practitioner and associate professor at McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. She has been a nurse practitioner since 1992 and obtained her DNP degree in 2015. She has an outpatient and house call practice. Her clinic became the second outpatient clinic in Texas to be considered “Age-Friendly Committed to Care Excellence.” She was the lead for the practice plan as they participated in the 18-month AFHS collaborative with 30 other health systems. She is committed to improving care for older adults with HIV. Maureen is a current at-large member of the GAPNA Board of Directors and has been the Texas GAPNA president and a long-term member of the GAPNA Historical Committee.
