Kate Hansen Finch is director of nursing informatics at UCSF Health, where she leads nursing informatics strategy, clinician engagement, and technology-enabled practice across the health system. She began her nursing career in neonatal intensive care, working at multiple academic medical centers before joining UCSF in 2009 as a nurse in the intensive care nursery. She later transitioned fully into nursing informatics, bringing her frontline clinical experience to the design, implementation, and optimization of digital solutions. Her work focuses on aligning technology with clinical workflows and developing programs that strengthen informatics capability and clinician leadership, including the informatics champion program and informatics strategy day.
