Kathleen Ulanday is a senior clinical informatics specialist at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Kathleen has worked within the informatics space for over a decade with various roles from staff contributor to a divisional director over clinical informatics. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas, and masters' degrees in both business and healthcare administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake. She is ANCC board certified in informatics nursing and CPHIMS through HIMSS. Kathleen has served on the national ANIA board of directors as secretary and president and founded the Houston ANIA chapter in Texas. She currently serves as the co-chair of their state Texas Nurse Association health information technology committee. In addition, as an ANIA member she sits on the Alliance for Nursing Informatics to help advance nursing informatics leadership, practice, education, policy, and research through a unified voice of nursing informatics organizations.
