Dr. Cory Stephens has over a decade of experience in nursing informatics, specializing in the integration of emerging technologies into nursing practice and education. As an assistant professor in the nursing informatics program at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, he has developed and implemented AI-powered educational tools, including a custom virtual teaching assistant (VTA) designed to support graduate nursing students. He is also the recipient and co-PI on several grants designed to provide formal education and practical skills to nursing faculty on the use and integration of AI in academia. His work focuses on leveraging generative AI to enhance learning experiences and improve academic success in graduate nursing programs. Dr. Stephens is certified in nursing informatics, a certified professional in healthcare information and management systems (CPHIMS), and a fellow in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS).
