Erin Schroeder served as an informatics nurse at University Hospitals Lake Health in Concord, Ohio, for 3 years and is now a faculty member in the Breen School of Nursing at Ursuline College. She has more than 15 years of experience in health care, spanning acute care, nursing education, and nursing informatics. Her background includes bedside nursing, clinical education, electronic health record optimization, simulation-based learning, and curriculum development. Erin holds a Master of Business Administration degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and the certified associate in healthcare information and management systems (CAHIMS) credential. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership degree at Ursuline College. Her work focuses on leadership, nursing informatics, professional identity formation, interprofessional collaboration, and simulation-based education. She has developed innovative educational experiences including digital escape rooms, serious games, and augmented reality simulations that prepare nursing students for the complexities of modern healthcare practice. She served as treasurer for the Ohio chapter of the American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA) and is an active advocate for advancing nurse involvement in technology design, policy, and ethical implementation.
