Dr. Ellen Arigorat is the chief nursing informatics officer at the Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System, under the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Arigorat brings over 15 years of diverse nursing experience, spanning telemetry, perioperative, and informatics roles in both acute and ambulatory care settings. She began her career with a diploma in nursing and further advanced her education by earning a BSN degree from Kean University, an MS degree in nursing informatics from Rory Meyers College of Nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a focus on education leadership from Case Western. Throughout her career as a nurse informaticist, Dr. Arigorat has led numerous initiatives, including the opening of the ambulatory procedure center, implementing interoperability between infusion pumps and the electronic medical record, and promoting the adoption of mobile technology at the bedside. Ellen has actively contributed to the profession by volunteering on the education committee for the American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA) and serving as an abstract and peer reviewer for multiple organizations. Her dedication and leadership in informatics have been recognized with both local and national awards.
