As healthcare systems continue to face staffing shortages, provider burnout, and rising costs, virtual nursing has emerged as one of the most promising innovations in modern health care. This session explores the evolution of hybrid workforce models that strategically combine traditional bedside care with virtual nursing capabilities to maximize both human connection and technological efficiency. Discussion will include identifying several distinct hybrid workforce models for virtual nursing implementation and their unique advantages, applications, and operational requirements; which hybrid staffing approach is most effective based on facility size, technological infrastructure, patient demographics, and staff capabilities; and how strategic implementation of hybrid virtual nursing models can address multiple healthcare challenges.
