Tammy Kwiatkoski is the senior director, clinical informatics, for HIMSS. Tammy joined HIMSS in 2011 as senior manager, operations. In this role, she directed and fostered connections between HIMSS North America, the North American HIMSS chapters, and internal staff. In December of 2015, she transitioned to her current role of senior director, clinical informatics, and leads a team of subject matter experts to execute global initiatives for HIMSS clinical communities including medical informatics, nursing informatics, health technology/clinical engineering, enterprise imaging, pharmacy informatics, and long-term and post-acute care. Over the past 11 years with HIMSS, she has led clinical informatics initiatives by advancing innovation, research and surveys, collaborations, and member engagement. Tammy also serves as the organization’s primary content liaison for clinical informatics partnerships and leads efforts to ensure the external alignment of the Alliance for Nursing Informatics (25 organizations),and the HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Community strategies. Before joining HIMSS, Tammy worked in community affairs, government affairs, and project development. She brings years of versatile experience to HIMSS, where her leadership and strategic planning skills prove a valuable contribution to the organization. Tammy earned her bachelor of arts degree in communications – public relations and journalism at Loyola University and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
