Mark Bassett has been in the field of nursing informatics since 1991. In 1993, he joined a start-up company and developed its implementation program and department, then a consultation group and then an ORYX-approved benchmarking service in 1997. In the early 2000s, he led a team to develop the initial conceptual design of a new process-based software program for home health and hospice. Later he developed an innovative implementation program that used new process metrics from the system to confirm/reinforce student success. He restarted the GA chapter of ANIA in 2016 and served as president until 2024. He worked with a group of chapter leaders to develop the ANIA Southeast Region Education Committee, which has grown to include all six chapters of the Southeast Region of ANIA, and he currently serves as its leader.
